Coats for 3-Legged Dogs — Designed to Actually Fit
Most dog coats you can buy have either 2 sleeves or 2 leg holes. For a 3-legged dog, that means one empty sleeve flapping, getting wet, getting caught under their chest, or tripping them up.
That's why I decided to design my own.
Every Tripawd coat has 1 shoulder closed — specially cut for either a left or right front-leg amputee, so there is no empty leg hole. It sits flat and comfortable over the shoulder, doesn't flap, and lets them move freely without getting tangled.
All my coats are designed as a pullover-head version to make dressing easier. They have a closed, warm neck with a zip on the back or on the front. Because the zip isn't open at the collar end, it stays secure around the neck and is much easier to put on. You simply pull the coat over the head, put in the leg and shoulder, and close the zip. Voila!
Materials vary depending on the season and the style:
- Water-resistant outer with fleece lining — for wet, cold walks
- Cotton with quilted lining — breathable but warm, great for everyday
- Sweatshirt material with lining — soft, cosy and easy to wash
From classic heritage tweeds and wax-look fabrics to my new gothic styles, each coat is handmade to order here in the UK, from XXS to greyhound and lurcher sizes.
Just tell me if your dog is missing the left or right leg when you order, and I'll make it to fit.
